MARY BALOGH

Mary Balogh, una delle più acclamate e premiate autrici contemporanee del genere storico/regency, è nata a Swansea, nel Galles, terra di mare e montagne,canzoni e leggende. Un bagaglio di emozioni che l'autrice ha portato con sè quando decise di trasferirsi in Canada con un contratto di tre mesi come insegnante. Quella che doveva essere un'esperienza temporanea si è però trasformata in una nuova vita, perchè in Canada Mary ha incontrato Robert che ha sposato e con il quale ha avuto tre figli.

In Canada Mary ha anche iniziato la sua carriera di scrittrice, pur continuando a fare l'insegnante a tempo pieno. Il suo primo successo, A Masked Deception, scritto a mano nei ritagli di tempo sul tavolo della cucina, uscì nel 1985 e vinse in quell'anno il premio della rivista Romantic Times come miglior opera prima nel genere regency. Molti romanzi e racconti hanno seguito negli anni quel primo successo (vedi la sua backlist, per quella dei suoi romanzi pubblicati in Italia scorri qui sotto) e oggi Mary Balogh è una scrittrice romance a tempo pieno e ogni suo libro è atteso con impazienza da milioni di fedeli lettrici in tutto il mondo.

Mary Balogh è attualmente membro del RWA Honor Roll .
